Air quality zone revoked following sustained drop in pollution
A long-standing air quality management zone has been lifted following sustained improvements in pollution levels.
Marcham’s air quality management area (AQMA), in place since June 2006, has been formally revoked by the Vale of White Horse District Council after five consecutive years of nitrogen dioxide levels remaining below the national limit.
The decision was made in line with government guidance, which requires the removal of an AQMA after three years of compliance, and is mandatory after five.
