French certification and inspection group Bureau Veritas SA (EPA:BVI) has closed the acquisition of Spanish renewables engineering consultancy Solida, saying that the deal will strengthen technical capabilities of both companies and consolidate Bureau Veritas Spain as one of the group’s main global technical centres for renewable energy.

The move follows the agreement Bureau Veritas announced in October to acquire Solida, which is said to have worked on nearly 2,500 renewable energy projects totalling about 220 GW in more than 50 countries.
