A new chapter in offshore wind operations began this week as Artemis Technologies successfully completed a live sea demonstration of its 100% electric foiling crew transfer vessel (CTV) at Vattenfall’s Aberdeen Offshore Wind Farm.

The Artemis EF-12 CTV, developed in collaboration with Tidal Transit, Lloyd’s Register and ORE Catapult, is the first of its kind to feature dual electric propulsion and hydrofoiling technology – significantly cutting emissions and operational noise.

Dr Iain Percy, CEO of Artemis Technologies, said: “We are committed to developing technology that contributes to the decarbonisation of the maritime industry. This technical demonstration provided an essential platform to test the capabilities of the dual propulsion Artemis EF-12 CTV.”

Powered by Artemis’s eFoiler® electric propulsion system, the vessel operated across varying sea conditions and performed critical bollard push manoeuvres to demonstrate stability, performance and commercial readiness.
