The project represents a “replicable hybrid asset model,” the Danish renewable energy company said on Monday.

Located in Viborg municipality in western Denmark, the Kvosted PV farm has been operating since 2022 and the lithium-ion battery energy storage system (BESS) was energised late last year. The complex will be capable of delivering power that will be enough to cover the daily consumption of about 18,000 Danish homes per year. The integrated battery facility will allow electricity to be used when solar generation is low, including evening and night-time hours. It will also absorb excess power generation during peak production times and thus support the flexibility of the electricity system. Optimisation services will be provided by energy trader Danske Commodities.
