The proposal will be assessed under Australia’s Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act, official documents show. According to the project’s website, the planned investment stands at AUD 1.9 billion (USD 1.27bn/EUR 1.09bn).

The Wooderson Solar Farm will be located around 40 south-west of Gladstone, within the Gladstone Regional Council, and will be equipped with 980,000 panels that will be coupled with an eight-hour battery energy storage system (BESS) of 450 MWdc/3,600 MWh. The complex will be hooked to the grid via a 275-kV overhead transmission line, to be installed as part of the project. The total area to be encompassed by the solar-storage park is 5,618 hectares.
