Uzbekistan will implement stricter rules for the handling and recycling of construction waste starting in 2026. The measures aim to reduce environmental impact, improve safety, and strengthen oversight in the construction sector.

Beginning 1 February 2026, construction companies and manufacturers will be required to send hazardous construction materials, identified as unsafe and subject to mandatory withdrawal from use, either to specialized recycling facilities or to designated waste disposal sites. These obligations must be carried out under formal contracts with licensed enterprises specializing in construction waste processing.
