The world’s first vertical floating photovoltaic system was inaugurated in Germany by SINN Power. This formation can increase energy yield with its vertical west-east formation, particularly in morning and evening hours when conventional solar systems are less productive.

It covers just 4.65% of the water’s surface, allowing oxygen and sunlight to pass through to avoid harming flora and fauna in the area. The company says that its panels could even provide new habitats, with schools of fish congregating near the counterweights.
