This initiative aims to establish EU-wide criteria for end-of-waste textile waste, specifically for ‘preparing for re-use’ and ‘remanufacturing’ and ‘recycling’.

Two single, harmonised sets of end-of-waste criteria and their uniform application across Member States will facilitate the functioning of a single market for secondary raw materials and improve the balance between supply and demand. They will reduce the administrative burden for economic operators.
