Vodafone Procure & Connect has launched a pilot project with Shell Energy Europe to explore the role of battery storage in achieving smarter, more sustainable energy use.

The initiative sees Vodafone gain access to a portion of the operational benefits of the 100MW/3-hour battery energy storage facility in Bramley, Hampshire – one of the UK’s largest grid-connected battery sites.

Managed by Shell, the Bramley site provides a platform for Vodafone to understand how large-scale batteries could support more flexible energy management across its operations.

The project will generate insights into how battery systems can help businesses participate in grid services, reduce carbon emissions and enhance energy resilience.
