Work to improve chalk stream water quality moves to next phase
Work to improve water quality in a unique chalk stream is set to move into its next phase.
Southern Water is set to begin the next phase of its sewer sealing programme in West Dean as part of an effort to reduce groundwater flooding and storm overflows in the Lavant Valley.
The project involves sealing ageing pipe joints with specialist plastic linings to stop groundwater from entering the sewer network.
